The Candidates

I wish you'd stop sniping at each other and STFU for 10 minutes. All politicians are liars in the end. I can deal with that at this point in my life. Sucks, but I'll deal. Stop with the attacks and negative ads. Stop with the slander and libel and instead tell me what you want to accomplish as president. Then tell me HOW you plan to go about doing it? I don't care if someone's daughter is knocked up, that's not the point. Don't tell me you're going to change government and immediately drop the subject when pressed on the HOWs Tell me how you plan to implement these sweeping changes. Spend your energy telling me what and how you plan to run the country as president and STFU about the other candidate's shortcomings.

See, this is exactly why I always vote third party. I can't necessarily trust them any more than I can the other two, but at least some of them are telling me HOW and WHY. That's got to count for something right?

Well, I agree except for one nitpicky detail.

It's not slander (or libel) if it's true and from the looks of it, most of it coming from both sides is true.

However, that doesn't take away from the fact that they both spit venom at each other while our country moves further from freedom to socialism.

Excellent post. I actually was (will be) talking about the same thing.

This is why I think there needs to be more forums/debates with candidates. The more times they are in the same room together, the less mud slinging. Three debates are too little. Should be one a week from Labor Day until Election Day.

Good point Chris, and correct to boot. But still, they need to stop spitting venom and tell me how they're going to fix this thing. If I wanted to pay triple the taxes and live in a socialist state, I'd move to Sweden.

Sal, I just read your post on the Palin interview. Dead on. The way the media, all media from the looks of things, cut and paste and edit anything and everything the candidates say so they'll look/sound their absolute worst. And the public falls for it every time. It's really disturbing. Is there any unbiased news anymore? I don't even pretend to know everything (or even most of) that's going on with this election but I sure know when I'm being duped by the media.

Laura - you are correct. Most news seems to come at some angle. Up to the public to "push" what they are reading to neutral. I was really surprised about the editing of what I thought was an extremely important question and answer. Made me wonder if the transcripts that were available were edited in any way.
